The Dowdall Drain has caused considerable angst among those along the drain and in particular, those residents of Heron Lake Estates. There remain many unresolved issues re: the need for maintenance and with assessment apportionments. Those assessments were argued before the Court of Revision.
The Court of Revision chaired by Councillor Thompson, met on March 30th, 2010 to render its decision. Prior to rendering its decision Councillor Thompson and I met with outside legal. This was necessary as the City was party to the hearings. After reviewing the submissions and the governing legislation, a decision was drafted by our legal advisor. To allow time for a further review of the legal document, a half hour adjournment was required. The full decision has been received from the Clerk’s Office.
