Robert “Glenn” Brooks...
- Born and raised in the rural community
- Retired educator (principal/teacher) of 33 years
- Married to Gail Wallace and proud father of Robb, Beth, and James, and proud grandfather of Emma, Jamie, and Chelsea.
- Family farmed locally for 10 years – (cow-calf operation)
- Entered local politics in Fall of 1976 as a Rideau Township Councillor, 9 years as Mayor, 6 years as a Regional Councillor, 10 years as City Councillor
- 3 years as Rideau's Corporate Chief Executive Officer – (1997-2000)
- After 24 years of service, was elected to Council of the new City of Ottawa in 2000
- An avid sports participant - judo, ball, biking, hiking, swimming, canoeing
- Enjoys a novel when time permits
- Enjoys his Councillor's responsibilities and the support of the general public
- Has been and continues to be very involved in over 50 community associations across Rideau-Goulbourn Ward
